Creative Ideas for Wreath Stands

“Wreaths aren’t just for walls and doors anymore!” says Harvest Scents and Traders Lead Designer, Amy Durham.  “Wreath stands are extremely versatile year round and give you so many decorating options.”

Amy says to be creative and think of original ways to use a wreath stand to add dimension to any design project.  Here are a few suggestions that Amy has for decorating with wreath stands…

*  Put a wreath and stand on an entry table to create a warm feeling in your foyer.  Change the wreath out seasonally or as the mood strikes you!

*  Place one on a buffet to add some height to any spread.

*  Use a wreath stand in a guest bedroom. Change the wreath… change the bedspread… and "wha-la" it looks like you totally redecorated!

*  They look great on a mantle or above your entertainment center.

*  Many kitchens have lots of room above the kitchen cabinets and this will draw your eye higher.

*  Many of the new homes have half walls and plant ledges that are hard to decorate. Wreaths on wreath stands are a great solution.

*  Adjustable wreath stands are great to hold larger wreaths on a ledge or make nice stand alone decorations on the floor.

*  Add a metal star or even a LED light to the center of the wreath on the stand to create a layered look.

*  Some stands come in a 2 hook style that allows you to hang 2 wreaths back to back for a topiary affect.  These same 2 hook stands allow you to use fish line or ribbon to hang one or 2 wreaths horizontally on the wreath stand with the pole going up through the center of the wreath.  It creates a beautiful “chandelier” affect and makes a great centerpiece.

*  Some people use wreath stands as a hat stand.

*  The back of a commode is the perfect spot for a splash of color with a wreath on a stand.

*  Send a lovely springy wreath on a stand to your mother for mother’s day.  Tie balloons to the top of the stand and add a sign that says “It’s a Boy or Girl”  or “Get Well” and send to a hospital as a gift.  They are a great gift solution as many hospitals have rules against fresh flowers or anything with fragrance.

*  Many homes are using small wreath stands as a hand towel holder.

*  The new “Mini” wreath stands are about 14” tall and look great on a window ledge, small shelf or desk holding a candle ring.  They are perfect for small places.

*  Stores love them as a display piece for scarves, purses, and necklaces.  Many stores even hang garments off them on a hanger on a tabletop instead of using a mannequin.

*  Wreaths stands look great as a greeter on any front porch.  Perhaps add a welcome sign to the center of the wreath for a more personalized feel.  Another cute idea is to place a sitting snowman or seasonal item inside the wreath.

*  Many people send them to funeral homes in lieu of fresh cut flowers as a bereavement gift.  Be sure to send a versatile wreath that will go with any décor, and it can be taken home and placed in the family’s kitchen or living room as a remembrance of their loved one that passed away.  It will last long after fresh flowers would fade away!
